No, you do not have to move out for staging to happen. Most Flowers Team Real Estate sellers stay in their home throughout the entire listing period, and our staging process is built to accommodate occupied homes. Moving out is never a requirement for staging.

The majority of homes Tara Llewellyn stages are family homes where people are actively living. The approach for an occupied home is not to clear everything out and start fresh. It is to make deliberate decisions about what stays, what goes, and what gets added to create the strongest possible buyer impression while the sellers continue their daily lives.

The only day you need to be out of the home is stage day itself. On that day, the Flowers Team staging crew, movers, cleaners, and photographer are all working through the property simultaneously. It is a busy, productive day, and having sellers at home during it creates unnecessary disruption for everyone. The expectation is simply that sellers are out for the day, typically their normal workday, and return in the evening to the reveal.

After staging is complete, sellers return home, and normal life resumes, with the staged furniture now part of the household for the duration of the listing. Sellers use it, live with it, and treat it with the same care they would give their own belongings.

Some sellers, particularly those with young children or pets, choose to stay elsewhere during the active showing period for their own convenience. This is always a personal choice, never a requirement. Many sellers with families find it easier to maintain show-ready condition if they have a flexible plan for showings, but plenty of families manage the process successfully while living in the home throughout.
