Where does the staging furniture come from?
All staging furniture used by Flowers Team Real Estate comes from our own curated inventory, managed by Tara Llewellyn from our 3,500 sq. ft. staging warehouse in Milton. We do not rent furniture from third-party companies or piece together staging from multiple sources. Every item our clients see in their home has been hand-selected by Tara and is part of a deliberate, professionally managed inventory.
Here is how the inventory is sourced and maintained:
Approximately 95% of Flowers Team's staging furniture and accessories are sourced from local furniture and accessory stores. Tara has developed relationships with suppliers over more than a decade, and she shops with a specific eye for pieces that are transitional in style, not too heavy for movers, and distinctive enough to feel special rather than generic.
One of Tara's preferred sources is HomeSense (homesense.ca), which she values because the pieces are transitional, widely adaptable across different home styles, and not so widely distributed that the same items show up in every staged home. When she finds a piece she loves, she may never see it again, which means the Flowers Team inventory feels curated and unique rather than off-the-shelf.
Rugs are a major focus of the inventory. Tara has over 88 area rugs because rugs are often the starting point for a room's design direction, and having a wide selection allows her to match the right rug to each specific room.
Occasionally, a seller has a piece of furniture or a decor item they no longer need that fits the staging aesthetic, and Flowers Team may purchase it from them and incorporate it into the inventory.
The inventory is in constant rotation across actively staged listings. Items that have been used extensively are retired periodically, sometimes through warehouse sales that have become popular community events. The last Flowers Team warehouse sale drew lineups down the street.
