Day 5 - Polar Express Day!

TOOT TOOT! All aboard! One of our favourite Christmas movies is The Polar Express; do you remember this beautiful story about a boy who makes his way to the North Pole on an amazing magical journey?

We’re going to challenge you to draw your picture of the Polar Express! Do you need some help? Check out this cool tutorial from Art for Kids Hub !  In fact, you will find a TON of Christmas drawing tutorials on Art for Kids Hub's Channel!

On that amazing journey, hot chocolate is served on the train - it is as “thick and rich as melted chocolate bars.” That sounds delicious!! We found a recipe for some very special Polar Express Hot Chocolate – this looks fantastic!

Polar Express Hot Chocolate

6 cups milk
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
generous pinch of salt
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 heaped cups chocolate chips or broken chocolate bars

Whipped cream

Chocolate shavings

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a slow-cooker set on low heat. Stir often as the mixture warms up and the chocolate starts to melt. When the chocolate starts melting, switch to whisking often until the chocolate is completely melted. Serve this rich hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top.

Try and and let us know how it was!

We have two activities for you to print today!  Can you find all the words in this awesome Polar Express Word Search?

Next up!  Get ready to colour this exciting moment when the boy gets to climb aboard the Polar Express!  ALL ABOARD!
