What does a home stager actually do?
A professional home stager does far more than bring in a few throw pillows and call it done. At Flowers Team Real Estate, our in-house Certified Staging Professional Tara Llewellyn leads a complete staging operation that covers everything from the initial consultation to the final touches on photography day. She has been voted Milton's number one stager every year since 2017, and the scope of what she manages is what makes that recognition possible.
Here is what a Flowers Team home stager actually does:
Before stage day, Tara meets with the seller for a detailed consultation, walks through the entire property, and develops a staging vision specific to that home. She provides a written preparation checklist, gives advice on paint, lighting, and renovation decisions, and designs the look and feel of every room based on the home's style, size, and the demographic most likely to buy it.
Then comes the physical staging operation itself:
• Tara hand-curates furniture and accessories from her 3,500 sq. ft. warehouse, selecting pieces that suit the scale and style of each specific room
• She coordinates with movers to transport staging inventory to the property
• On stage day, she is on-site with her staging crew to bring the vision to life, placing furniture, hanging artwork, styling surfaces, and installing curtains and lighting
• She works with our professional photographer on the day, staging specifically for the camera angles that will best showcase each room in the listing photos
• After the home sells, she coordinates the removal of all staging inventory
In addition to the physical work, Tara manages the logistics of an inventory valued at over $500,000, including more than 88 area rugs, 20 to 25 lamps deployed in a typical staged home, and the full depth of furniture, art, and accessories needed to stage over a dozen properties simultaneously.
