What is a home staging consultation?
A home staging consultation is the first step in the staging process, and at Flowers Team Real Estate, it is where the plan for your home's transformation begins. For every seller we work with, the consultation is led personally by Tara Llewellyn, our in-house Certified Staging Professional and Milton's number one stager since 2017.
Here is exactly what happens during a Flowers Team staging consultation:
The consultation begins with Tara walking through your entire home with you. Her approach is honest and direct. She enters the property the way a buyer would, observing first impressions, noting what draws the eye and what distracts from it. If the paint needs updating, she says so. If a room's layout is working against the space, she explains why and offers a clear alternative vision.
This objectivity is one of the most valuable things a staging consultation delivers. Tara can have conversations with homeowners that a real estate agent sometimes cannot, because she is focused entirely on what is best for the presentation of the property, not on managing expectations or protecting feelings. Her goal, and ours, is to get sellers the strongest result possible.
By the end of the consultation, sellers receive:
• A full written preparation checklist outlining everything that should be done before stage day
• Clear guidance on what repairs, improvements, or updates will generate the strongest return on investment
• Honest advice on what to skip, because not every expense is worth making before a sale
• A game plan for the staging itself, including what furniture and accessories Tara intends to bring in
• Advice on paint colors, lighting, and any other elements that could affect the overall presentation
A consultation typically takes approximately two hours for a standard size home. It can be done in person or by video call when necessary.
