Buyer Questions
What questions should I ask when viewing a property?
Ask about the home’s age, updates, known issues, monthly costs, inclusions, neighbourhood, utility bills, and any rules that could affect how you use the property.

The right questions go far beyond what you can see — and Flowers Team Real Estate coaches every buyer on exactly what to ask and look for before making one of the largest financial decisions of their life. After 25+ years and over 3,000 transactions, we know where the issues hide.

About the Property Itself

  • Why is the seller selling, and how long have they lived here?
  • How old are the roof, furnace, air conditioner, and water heater?
  • Have there been any water infiltration issues in the basement or roof?
  • Have there been any major renovations — and were permits pulled and closed?
  • What are the average monthly utility costs?
  • Are there any outstanding liens, easements, or encumbrances on the property?

About the Neighbourhood

  • What is the current school boundary for this address?
  • Are there any planned developments, rezoning applications, or infrastructure changes nearby?
  • What is the parking situation and are there any street restrictions?

About the Transaction

  • How long has the property been listed and have there been any previous offers?
  • What are the seller's preferred closing and possession dates?
  • What chattels and fixtures are included in the sale?

Flowers Team Real Estate accompanies every client to every showing and asks all of these questions — and many more. Our experience means we notice things that buyers and less experienced agents miss. Let us guide your property search.
