Federal Programs

  • First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit — a $10,000 non-refundable federal tax credit providing up to $1,500 in tax relief in the year of purchase.
  • GST/HST New Housing Rebate — if purchasing a newly built home, you may qualify for a partial rebate of the HST paid on the purchase price, with a possible full provincial portion rebate up to $50,000.

Ontario Provincial Programs

  • Ontario Land Transfer Tax Rebate — first-time buyers receive up to $4,000 rebate on Ontario land transfer tax. To qualify, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, be 18 or older, have never owned a home anywhere in the world, and occupy the home as your principal residence.
