Steam-Era 2026
Dates: September 4–7, 2026
Location: Hume’s Auction Farm, 9313 Fourth Line, Milton
Start the fall season with a Milton tradition.
Steam-Era returns over Labour Day weekend for four days celebrating Ontario’s agricultural and mechanical history.
Hosted by the Ontario Steam & Antique Preservers Association, the event brings antique machinery, tractors and steam-powered equipment together in one place.
The theme for 2026 is “The Evolution of Oliver,” featuring Nichols & Shepard, Hart-Parr and Oliver equipment.
If you have kids who love tractors and big machines or you just enjoy seeing a piece of Ontario’s rural history in action, this is one to put on the calendar.

Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026

Location: Main Street, Downtown Milton
Car lovers, save September 12.
For one evening, Downtown Milton’s Main Street transforms into an outdoor car show featuring around 100 classic and unique vehicles.
You can wander Main Street checking out everything from vintage classics to modern cars while enjoying live entertainment, family activities and the downtown patios and restaurants.
It is a great excuse to head downtown, grab dinner and spend an evening exploring Main Street.

Go Apple Picking
Is it really fall in Milton without an afternoon at an apple orchard?
Chudleigh’s Entertainment Farm

Take a Fall Colours Hike
You do not have to travel far from Milton to find some pretty incredible fall colours.
Living beside the Niagara Escarpment means we have some of the best fall hiking destinations in the GTA practically in our backyard.
Rattlesnake Point
Location: 7200 Appleby Line, Milton
Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area is hard to beat when the leaves begin changing.
Between the forest trails, towering cliffs and escarpment lookouts, there are plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the fall scenery.

Hilton Falls
Location: 4985 Campbellville Road, Milton
For a hike with a destination, head to Hilton Falls Conservation Area.
The trails take you through beautiful forest before reaching the historic mill ruins and waterfall. Add fall colours to the mix and it becomes one of those outings that reminds you just how much nature we have surrounding Milton.

Crawford Lake

Crawford Lake Conservation Area is another great choice, especially if you are looking for a more relaxed fall walk.

The Milton Fall Fair is one of those events that feels like fall has officially arrived.
Running from Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27, the fair brings together Milton’s agricultural roots with the midway, competitions, entertainment and traditional fair activities.
The theme for 2026 is Urban Agriculture.
Whether you go for the rides, animals, agricultural exhibits, food or simply because going to the fair has become a family tradition, it is worth saving the weekend.

Andrews Farm Market & Winery
Andrews is one option for a fall farm visit and seasonal produce. Availability can depend on the harvest, so check with the farm before heading out specifically for pumpkins.

Springridge Farm
Location: 7256 Bell School Line, Milton
You can also make a fall stop at Springridge Farm.
September and October bring apples, pumpkins, gourds and plenty of fall atmosphere to the farm. Its barn market is another good excuse to add it to a fall weekend drive.

Pumpkins After Dark
Dates: September 26–October 31, 2026
Location: Country Heritage Park, 8560 Tremaine Road, Milton
Parking: Free onsite parking
Entry: Timed tickets
When the sun goes down, the pumpkins light up.
Pumpkins After Dark returns to Country Heritage Park from September 26 through Halloween night, October 31.
The outdoor experience features a roughly one-kilometre walk surrounded by more than 10,000 hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns.
For 2026, visitors can expect brand-new World Tour displays, Dracula’s Haunted Castle, a new Bee Hive Maze, live pumpkin carving, costumed performers, seasonal treats and plenty of fall photo opportunities.
There are also Wednesday Pet Nights, Discount Thursdays and Sunday Theme Nights planned for the 2026 season.
Tickets use timed entry, so this is one fall activity you will probably want to book ahead rather than leave until the last minute.

Celebrate Halloween in Milton
Date: Saturday, October 31, 2026
Finish your fall bucket list with Halloween.
Spend the afternoon carving those pumpkins you picked earlier in the month, decorate the house, get the costumes ready and head out for an evening of trick-or-treating around your neighbourhood.
You could also make Halloween night your final chance to visit Pumpkins After Dark, which runs through October 31 this year.
