Milton Council’s Annual New Year’s Day Levee

January 1

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

The Town of Milton Council is hosting a New Year’s Day Levee on Wednesday, January 1st from 1 to 3 pm at Milton Town Hall (150 Mary Street). You are warmly invited to come and exchange New Year’s wishes with Mayor Gord Krantz and Councillors.
Enjoy tasty desserts (courtesy of La Rose Specialty Foods and Fine Italian Bakery – Milton, Ontario ), finger foods and fresh coffee (provided by Tim Hortons) as your Councillors cheerfully serve you!

This event proudly sponsors MCRC’s Fill-a-Crib campaign. Donations of diapers, infant formula, and feminine hygiene products will be greatly appreciated!

Victorian Christmas

Bronte Creek Provincial Park

A special treat awaits you and your family – once the hustle and bustle of the day is over and you have time to relax and enjoy the school holiday with your family.

Step back in time to 1899 to see how an early settler family celebrated the season. You will learn about why and how some of the traditions started and continue to this day.

There will be house tours, crafts, refreshments, music and storytime.

Plan to spend around 2 hours enjoying all the activities.

No additional charge to participate — after the purchase of park daily vehicle permit. Food and beverages are extra.

All participants will be given fun take-home resources that will keep the conversation going around the dinner table, on the way to lessons, and at bedtime.

Check out the always popular Winter Market at Terra Greenhouses. The Market runs every Saturday from January 18th – March 28th 10am-3pm at the TERRA Winter Market in Milton & Hamilton. There are over 160 food and artisan vendors spread over both locations. Grab a friend and do some grocery shopping, enjoy some lunch and the warm greenhouse all the while supporting local businesses.  

Milton Film Festival

A world of film will be coming to Milton once again for the seventh annual Milton Film Festival, presenting the best of local, Canadian, and international films in the beautiful Mattamy Theatre. Milton Real Estate Market Watch – March 2025 Affordability Improves While Inventory Grows: What Buyers Need to Know The Milton real estate market saw a shift in March 2025, bringing more affordability and increased inventory to the table. As borrowing costs eased and home prices edged lower compared to last year, homeownership became more attainable for many households considering a move. Prices Ease Year-Over-Year In March 2025, the average selling price in Milton was $989,662 , reflecting a 6.73% decrease compared to March 2024. The median sale price followed suit, dipping to $955,352 , down from $1,005,000 last year. While prices saw a modest month-over-month gain of 1.41% , the year-over-year dip is welcome news for buyers who were previously priced out. This trend offers a strategic opportunity for those looking to enter the market or move up, especially with interest rate cuts anticipated this spring . As TRREB President Elechia Barry-Sproule noted, “Homeownership has become more affordable over the past 12 months, and we expect further rate cuts this spring. Buyers will also benefit from increased choice, giving them greater negotiating power.” Sales-to-New-Listings Ratio Signals a Buyer’s Market With a sales-to-new-listings ratio of just 0.28 , the Milton market is firmly in buyer’s territory . This figure is down from 0.33 in February and far below the 0.60 threshold that typically indicates a seller's market. Buyers are clearly being cautious — and for good reason. According to TRREB’s Chief Information Officer Jason Mercer ,  “Given the current trade uncertainty and the upcoming federal election, many households are likely taking a wait-and-see approach... Home buyers need to feel their employment situation is solid before committing to monthly mortgage payments over the long term.”
